Born and raised in New York City, a graduate of Edward R. Murrow High School’s Screened Art Program, Jasper is currently a student at the Cooper Union School of Art. His exposure to the work of the photographers that make up his family has also impacted his ability to transcend the emotional experience into a visual form. Jasper demonstrated extraordinary art skills at an early age and began attending Saturday classes at Pratt Institute at the age of 11. By the age of 14, Jasper was selling his graffiti canvases, custom tee shirts, hats, and shoes as a street vendor with his best friend and mentor. Jasper has worked on many public murals with Groundswell Mural Projects, a non-profit organization committed to social change through art and community activism. Attracted to the brutal, honest, raw, unforgiving, intimate, and ever-changing place we call the streets, it has become part of his identity.

#ArtistOfTheDay Naomi Lisiki 🗽✌🏻️will be exhibiting her work with us at our upcoming event with @theartcreators Jan 8th @coworkrs Gowanus! Bio Naomi Lisiki was born on May 29 1997 in Guadeloupe, a French island in the Caribbean. Before coming to the United States, she did not perceive art as a major part of her life. She came to America when she was 13 years old and went to a French-American Private School for 2 years. Following that, she attended Grover Cleveland High School, in Queens, for 2 years, and graduated a year early to finally attend College. She attended the HS2AS program in Queens, when she was 16 years old. She applied and got accepted into The Cooper Union when she was 17 years old. Now, she is a second year Art student at The Cooper Union. As a child, she really enjoyed daydreaming, as she would take naps and play on the grass, in the garden behind her house or at the beach. According to her, these moments as a child are what influenced both her and the art that she produces today. Her work mostly deals with the unconscious and the super natural. When working, she thinks a lot about corals, and about the sea, which she considers as a second mother. With her work, she is not only setting up a spectacle, but also a visual matching of fragments of memories from her childhood in the Caribbean. Her drawings are in the realm of psychology, through the joyful investigation of “childishness”, using mixed materials to produce texture. She uses crayons, paint and sand particles that she spray paints and mixes with dust. Her work is about body contact, “communal consumption” but also about the idea of “losing control”. It is about the “controlling hand” or the matured individual, verses immoral and pubescent entities or tendencies. She tries to represent an almost platonic or neutral environment, where sexuality may never happen, while still involving nude bodies. Through the investigation of the “Spectacle”, she engages and represents bodies that might experience abuse, death or the degradation of their own body. Her work mostly deals with the idea of what “naiveté” is and childhood trauma. #ArtistOfTheDay @stephibones 🗽✌🏻️will be live drawing as well as exhibiting her work with us at our upcoming event with @theartcreators Jan 8th @coworkrs Gowanus! Bio: Stephanie Renee Casso, a fine artist, graphic designer, illustrator, curator and actor was born and raised in New York. She studied Communications Design and Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology and received her AAS in 2007. After graduating she volunteered with The Neighborhood Gallery in Post-Katrina New Orleans alongside the owner, Sandra Berry, for a year. SRC was in the 3 part group show ….Is This Free? at the Nurture Gallery in Bushwick. SRC has also participated in Bushwick Open Studios since 2012, in 2015 she was on the BOS Benefit committee. SRC was part of the Absorb Their Works Sort of Sculpture No 2 group show at 3RD Eye Sol Gallery in Bushwick. Recently, she curated and was a part of the group show, Into The WoodWorks at the I.M.A.G.E. Gallery in Bushwick. SRC is currently working on a series of mixed media collages on wood. Stephanie Renee lives and works in Bushwick, New York.

Bio: Krista “MISTAKOY” uses her art to both express herself and evolve the viewer’s sense of self, love, sex and humor. Born in St. Paul, MN, she studied Fashion Design at both Parsons and Otis College of Art & Design in LA, where she earned her B.F.A. Her experience at Mattel spawned her love of toys; influencing her art themes and creations. Her gestural freehand style of painting is reminiscent of both fashion illustration and graffiti stencils.
MISTAKOY’S paintings first debuted in the LA art collective L’art Pour L’art. Today she works from her studio in Bushwick, showing her paintings in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She has been commissioned for album art and murals, collaborated with fashion photographers, and has been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, and Brooklyn Street Art blog.

#ArtistOfTheDay We’re ecstatic to have artist @jae_martin live drawing as well as exhibiting his work with us for the first time in Brooklyn at our upcoming event with @theartcreators Jan 8th @coworkrs Gowanus! Bio: Jae Martin grew up loving the fast pace of city living. He also spent quite a bit of time in Barbados with his grandparents and cousins growing up. Being able to experience the beauty of his culture at a young age, Jae immersed himself into his art as a form of his own translation to what he saw. His art became an outlet. Since then, Jae has always looked for ways to release his creativity through several mediums. ​Two and half years ago enter Sharp With Art Group (SWAG). These 4 artist and friends (Haneef, Antonio, Cyril, and Shawn) convinced Jae to pick up the paintbrush again and paint for an art show case. This was his first taste of the artist life, and he loved it. He has been creating ever since. Producing pieces that are out of the norm. Influenced by the graffiti life, he incorporates this into his art to show his respect to a great art style. His two cities, Brooklyn and Philly, also play a huge influence in the creation process.
With the passing of a great influence on his life, his father, Jae has decided that failure is not an option. He has aligned himself with close friends to help make his mark on the world. Jae wants to make sure that his 2 little boys have someone to look up to, and to be proud of.

LoMan Art Festival Sticker Social Clubhouse
an interactive street art installation/pop up gallery that was on view at #LoMan #ArtFestival Sculpture Garden
The installation “Sticker Social Clubhouse” is a living, interactive project showcasing artwork from members of Sticker Social Club. Constructed out of wood pallets and found objects, the massive clubhouse is two floors and over 20 feet in length.
Visitors have fondly called the clubhouse a “dystopian pirate ship” and a “fort from our childhood dreams.” Keeping with Sticker Social Club’s drawing club roots, visitors are welcome to participate in the installation by drawing on stickers with materials provided. The club hopes to break down barriers placed in art showing that anyone can be involved in a creative community. The installation was on view during the LoMan Art Festival Friday, August 7th through August 9th at 114 Mulberry Street, New York City

The club has created other large scale interactive installations at various art fairs including the Long Island City Arts Walk 2014, Fridge Art Fair 2014, and Bushwick Open Studios 2014.
