To all you open hearted artists who have not only contributed art work but some of your best art work to this year’s #silentartauctin we love you. This is a portrait of osmane by @lunarnewyear @mataruda @gaiastreetart who as part of our “transforming gun violence” workshops proposed to a criminal court judge and deputy inspector in Brownsville that they hold monthly block parties so people may come together safely and in peace to remember the people we have lost to the streets. Our kids are beyond courageous, they are generous and wise and have a depth of experience many of us will never have. And it is through your support that we are able to provide a platform so that they may transform the criminal justice system through their own creative voices.
